How is the Slide different from other oral appliances?

The Slide places all of the adjustable components over the occlusal plane of the teeth, away from all  oral tissue. This provides maximum patient comfort and ease of adjustment.

  • There are no screws, nuts, hooks, dorsal fins, multiple splint combinations or elastics
  • No special tools or drivers are required
  • Spacers simply slide on and off to adjust the device to the correct amount of protrusion

What Other Dentists Are Saying

I have been very impressed with the ease of fitting and use of the Slide. The thermal adaptation of KeySplint Soft® makes adding or removing retention very simple. My assistants fit these for me. The lack of lateral components is very comfortable for the patients.

The spacers are easy for the patient to change so that they do not have to come in for a visit. Having the upper and the lower attached also prevent the necessity for elastics. Patients like them and so do I.

Michael Landry, DDS, D.ABDSM

“The response from my patients using the Slide appliance is absolutely all positive! They love the slim yet stable feel of the appliance and the fact that their mouth is staying closed with a small anterior opening.

They are also feeling an improvement in their symptoms rather quickly. I am very pleased with the ease of this appliance.

Judith Fisch, DDS, D.ABDSM

“Our office has been using the Slide appliance for our patients with mild to moderate sleep apnea. It’s been great!

The Slide connector is so nice because it is metal free and allows the patient some protrusive movement without losing the advancement needed for patency. Patients tell us it is very comfortable and easy to titrate as needed.

A completely digital workflow makes it an easy switch from our previous appliance…we haven’t looked back!”

Dentist FAQs

Only the Slide places all of the adjustable components over the occlusal plane of the teeth, away from all the oral tissue. This provides maximum patient comfort and ease of adjustment.

The Slide device is adjustable up to an additional 8mm of protrusion from the original sleep apnea bite.

The minimum inter-incisal opening is 7mm from central to central. This is important for connector placement.

Setup on the lab setting on your scanner for “NDX Davis Dental Lab”. Only the bite in the 40-50% protrusive is required and NOT a CO bite. The device cannot be made with a CO bite only. If sending PVS impressions, make certain to capture the distal of the most terminal tooth. NDX Davis can provide the lab prescriptions for the Slide.

Type on the scanner notes for the prescription, “Fabricate the Slide OSA using Keysplint Soft resin.”

There is no need for any additional items to be added to the splints for retention. The resin is unique in the fact it can be heated for more or less retention.
